As many of our Native youth are faced with the reality of being confined to their homes and often rooms, their cellphones and social media become their only outlets. While social media is seen by many as a negative and hindering outlet, there are people changing that narrative, Native youth.
In a message from Toiyabe Family Services Youth Prevention and Circles of Care, UNITY Peer Guide Leticia Gonzales shares mental health resources for Native youth and families. Leticia Lucille Gonzales, is an enrolled member of the Bishop Paiute Tribe in Bishop, California and serves as a UNITY Healing Indigenous Lives ambassador.
UNITY Peer Guide and current reigning 2019-2020 Miss Indian World Cheyenne Kippenberger was honored and recognized during the final Grand Entry of the 2020 Seminole Tribe of Florida Pow Wow.
